Lines of Love & Censure

Kjerstin Anne Kauffman

You caught me up
                 old world
in obsolescent fabric
stiff &
                loosely shaped
tabbinet, cambric
martin’s hide

my head /
                  your sculptures
my bowels /
                  your weight
—you bookshop
of stitchery!

teach me to intimate
what hasn’t shaken out:

the pleasure of
                  taking off;
simplicity; cotton;
                                  have I been
naked before? yes,
and then forgotten
